A new and exciting opportunity as a Senior Commercial Manager has arisen in our Rail Operations / Infrastructure Owner team to play key role in ensuring the successful maintenance and renewal of the Core Valley Lines Network.
Monitor for and mitigate breaches of governance by working with the Programme and Project teams and adhering to the TfW procurement and internal change control procedures relevant to the Operations and Maintenance Budget to ensure commercial governance.
Lead cost reporting of allocated projects within the Transport for Wales reporting framework by conducting cost forecasting, anticipated final cost, cost of work done, gross billing and current contract value; provide robust cost analysis to provide robust and accurate financial reporting.
You’ll also be reviewing contractor delivery by leading valuation of medium value/medium risk contracts and attending progress meetings to actively influence contractors’ commercial behaviours, delivery and activity.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Manager with a track record of successfully managing commercial contracts and providing robust cost analysis, ideally within the infrastructure or construction industry.
You’ll need to have:
o Professionally qualified a degree level of higher in relevant field e.g. Quantity Surveying, finance, commercial management or similar.
o Experience of working within the Construction, Engineering, or transport industry.
o A considerable track record of successfully administering construction contracts.
o Good knowledge of relevant legislation and its impact upon the contract and commercial function.
