We expect the incident to last until the end of the day and disruption to services is expected from 11:30 until the end of the day.
We have been made aware of a problem with the overhead electric wires at Manchester Piccadilly.
For safety, services in the area are subject to disruption and will be cancelled or revised.
Services will be cancelled for the rest of the day between Wilmslow and Manchester Piccadilly in both directions.
We have organised buses to run between Wilmslow and Manchester Piccadilly via Stockport in both directions to allow our passengers to continue their journey at no extra cost.
These arrangements are in place on services until the end of the day.
Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.

If you are travelling between Cardiff Central and Manchester Piccadilly and choose not to travel today, you may use your ticket tomorrow at no extra cost.
