Update: Incident due to a fault with the signalling system between Cardiff Central (CDF) and Swansea (SWA) until 16:25.
Update: Incident due to a fault with the signalling system between Cardiff Central (CDF) and Swansea (SWA) until 16:25.
Due to a fault with the signalling system between Cardiff Central (CDF) and Swansea (SWA):
Services will be delayed by up to 60 minutes.
Services will be cancelled in both directions between Cardiff Central (CDF) and Swansea (SWA).
We expect the incident to last until 16:25 and disruption to services is expected until 20:00.
Following disruption owing to a fault with the signalling system in the Port Talbot area, the problem has now been rectified and services are now able to run. Residual delays and cancellations can be expected until 20:00.
Local bus ticket acceptance will remain in place with operators as listed below. These arrangements are in place on services until 20:00.
Customers can use the following local bus services to help you complete your journey, at no extra cost:
- Route X2 provided by First Cymru between Cardiff and Bridgend.
- Route 64 provided by First Cymru between Bridgend and Pontyclun via Pencoed.
- Route X1 provided by First Cymru between Bridgend and Port Talbot.
- Route 87 provided by First Cymru between Port Talbot and Neath
- Route 84 provided by First Cymru between Port Talbot and Swansea via Baglan and Briton Ferry.
- Route X1 provided by First Cymru between Swansea and Bridgend via Briton Ferry, Port Talbot and Pyle.
- Route 34 provided by First Cymru between Swansea and Neath via Llansamlet and Skewen.
- Route 38 provided by First Cymru between Swansea and Neath via Skewen.
- Route X5 provided by First Cymru between Swansea and Neath via Briton Ferry.
- Route X7 provided by First Cymru between Swansea and Neath.
- Route 70 provided by First Cymru between Bridgend and Maesteg
- Route 71 provided by First Cymru between Bridgend and Maesteg

Due to a fault with the signalling system between Rhoose Cardiff Int Airport (RIA) and Bridgend (BGN):
Services will be cancelled in both directions between Rhoose Cardiff Int Airport (RIA) and Bridgend (BGN).
We expect the incident to last until 16:30 and disruption to services is expected until 18:30.
We have been made aware of a signalling problem between Rhoose and Bridgend.
As a result, train services will not be able to run through the area until the signalling system is working normally.
Our colleagues at Network Rail Infrastructure are aware of the problem and technicians are currently en route to the affected area/signalling.
We will publish more information here, once we have received an update from the infrastructure technicians.
