The emergency services have been dealing with an incident at Flint. The railway is now open and services are able to run. You can expect services running along the North Wales Coast and through Chester into Manchester to be busy and likely to be delayed due to services earlier in the day also running late. Due to a road vehicle colliding with a bridge between Wrexham General (WRX) and Bidston (BID):
Services will be cancelled in both directions between Wrexham General (WRX) and Wrexham Central (WXC).
We expect the incident to last until 18:00 and disruption to services is expected until 20:00.
What's Happened?
We have been made aware of a vehicle hitting a rail bridge in the Hawarden area. For safety, train services will not be able to run through the area until it has been fixed. Network Rail have checked the track and have reopened the route following the necessary inspection. Services will now be re-introduced, so please expect some disruption whilst we restore services to normal.
