Due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time between Shrewsbury (SHR) and Aberystwyth (AYW):
Services will be cancelled in both directions between Barmouth (BRM) and Shrewsbury (SHR).
We expect the incident to last until 23:59 on 29/10/2026 and disruption to services is expected from 05:30 until 23:59 on 29/10/2026.
What's Happened?
Due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time, there will be multiple cancellations throughout the day between Barmouth/Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury.
The following services between Pwllheli and Machynlleth are affected:
- 06:29 Pwllheli - Machynlleth will end its journey at Barmouth
- 07:24 Pwllheli - Machynlleth will end its journey at Tywyn
- 09:34 Pwllheli - Machynlleth will end its journey at Tywyn
- 11:37 Pwllheli - Machynlleth will end its journey at Tywyn
- 13:38 Pwllheli - Machynlleth will end its journey at Tywyn
- 15:37 Pwllheli - Machynlleth will end its journey at Tywyn
- 17:42 Pwllheli - Machynlleth will end its journey at Tywyn
- 20:26 Pwllheli - Machynlleth will end its journey at Tywyn
The following services between Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury are cancelled:

- 08:27 Aberystwyth - Shrewsbury

- 18:29 Aberystwyth - Shrewsbury
- 18:30 Shrewsbury - Aberystwyth
- 20:29 Aberystwyth - Machynlleth
- 20:32 Shrewsbury - Aberystwyth
- 22:27 Aberystwyth - Machynlleth
Alternative Travel Options:
We have organised buses to run between Barmouth/Tywyn and Machynlleth to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. The services listed below will be replaced by road transport provided by Lloyds.

- 07:24 Pwllheli - Machynlleth between Tywyn and Machynlleth
- 09:34 Pwllheli - Machynlleth between Tywyn and Machynlleth

These arrangements are only in place on the services above.
Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.
