Services may be delayed by up to 30 minutes.
Services may be cancelled in both directions between Chester (CTR) and Liverpool Lime Street (LIV).
We expect the incident to last until 16:00 and disruption to services is expected until 17:00.
What's Happened?
We have been made aware of a problem with the track between Chester and Runcorn.
Our Chester to Liverpool Lime Street services are currently affected. Network Rail has allowed trains to run, but they will move more slowly through the area.

Customers traveling between Liverpool Lime Street and Crewe on Avanti West Coast services can connect with TfW services between Crewe and Chester.
These arrangements are in place on services until 17:00.
If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost.

We have organised buses to run between Wrexham General and Chester to help you complete your journey, at no extra cost. Rail replacement will be provided by Northwich and Cymru Coaches.
These arrangements are in place on services until the end of the day.
Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.
