Due to a points failure between Shrewsbury (SHR) and Birmingham New Street (BHM):
We expect the incident to last until 18:00 and disruption to services is expected until 19:00.
We have been made aware of a points failure in the Wolverhampton area, on the Shrewsbury - Birmingham route.
Until the incident has cleared, our services will be unable to run.
Our services between Shrewsbury and Birmingham International are disrupted in both directions.
We expect the incident to be cleared by 18:00. Train services may be cancelled or delayed in the area until approximately 19:00.
Please be aware that West Midlands Railway, Avanti West Coast and CrossCountry are also affected by this incident. You can check your journey with any operator at tfw.wales.
Alternative Travel Options:
We have organised buses to run between Shrewsbury and Birmingham New Street to assist customers to complete journeys where possible at no extra cost. These will arrive at
- Shrewsbury at approximately 16:05 provided by Q&S.
- Cosford at approximately 14:30 provided by Brit Coaches and TNS.
- Wolverhampton at approximately 14:25 provided by JKT and Brit Coaches.
- Birmingham New Street at approximately 14:15 provided by Brit Coaches and Arden.
These arrangements are in place on services until 19:00.
Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.
