Due to a fault with the signalling system at Cardiff Central (CDF):
Services may be delayed by up to 5 minutes.
Services may be cancelled in both directions between Cardiff Central (CDF) and Radyr (RDR).
We expect the incident to last until 23:59 on 03/10/2026 and disruption to services is expected from 06:00 on 03/10/2026 until 23:59 on 03/10/2026.
What's Happened?
We have been made aware of a signalling problem at Cardiff Central.
For safety, services may be diverted and are subject to delays.
On Saturday the 3rd of October, all services between Cardiff Central and Treherbert will no longer call at Cardiff Queen Street, Cathays and Llandaff.
We will publish more information here, once we have received an update from the infrastructure technicians.

Customers can use local bus services between Llandaf and Cardiff to help you complete your journey, at no extra cost:

You can use these services all day on Saturday 3rd October.

We apologise that our Pay As You Go cannot be used on local bus operators.
We advise passengers to tap out at the earliest opportunity.

If you decide not to travel because of this disruption and your ticket is unused, you can obtain a fee free refund from wherever you purchased your ticket.
Pay as you go customers
If all or part of your journey requires a rail replacement bus, please tap in at your origin station and tap out at your destination. If you need to tap out at a gateline after travelling on a rail replacement bus, our station colleagues can assist. You can also add any missing taps using our app or website.
Pay as you go is only valid on Transport for Wales and CrossCountry services, even where we state you can use your original ticket at no extra cost with other train operators or local bus operators. If you travel with another operator or on a local bus service, you must first tap out at the same station within one hour of tapping in and buy an alternative ticket before boarding.
If you wish to abandon your journey, please tap out at the same station within one hour of tapping in.
